We designed Nura — AI-Powered Journaling App for an UK-based IT start-up.
The client spotted a hyper-competitive space — personal productivity apps — and saw a gap: people capture thoughts, but few tools turn daily reflection into concrete, momentum-building action. Their concept, Nura, pairs journaling with generative AI to surface tailored insights, suggest next steps, and gently build habits over time.

Nura Journal landing page (provided by the client; shown for context)
The app is designed to support users with care in their journaling journey. Upon entry, they are greeted with a personalized welcome, a thoughtful question, and an Add Journal button.
The core of the app is the journal itself. Since the main interaction happens through text, the design had to ensure effortless readability.

Add Journal screen
A defining feature lets users rate their mood. The AI provides tailored assistance based on it.

Mood Rating screen
The AI analyzes mood and journal content to generate helpful, personalized insights.

Insights from AI screen
The app’s AI analyzes journal entries to highlight focus areas for a more productive and fulfilling life, with reminders available for goals that need extra attention.

Personal Goals screen
The app includes a screen with detailed user analytics. Users can take a deeper look at their emotions. Each emotion can be reviewed in detail, accompanied by a sample for clarity.

Detailed Analytics screens
Mitigation. We fixed a short, weekly milestone rhythm and only moved forward after each milestone was approved.
Mitigation. We booked fixed review windows and applied a “silent approval after 48 hours” rule for non-critical items.
Mitigation. We kept specs and demo recordings up to date and assigned a backup owner for each critical area.
Delivered on schedule, the design is tailored to the World’s First AI-powered Journaling App and underscores its distinct value. Public testing revealed no interface defects.
